Will you give to the 10,000 Friends Resilience Fund today to help build vibrant, and resilient communities across Pennsylvania?
Your gift of $300 or more to the Resilience Fund will sow the seeds for the future of 10,000 Friends to build capacity to better serve the Commonwealth's communities tomorrow.
10,000 Friends supports the definition of resilience as “the ability to prepare and plan for, absorb,
recover from, and more successfully adapt to adverse events.” Central to this definition is the ability to bounce back from these events, solving problems and preventing hardship in the future. The impacts of climate change, economic downturns, and catalytic events like the COVID-19 pandemic threaten the built environment and economic stability of our communities in ways that have serious consequences for our future.
Addressing these issues requires projects and programs that both enhance preparedness and offer other economic, environmental, and social co-benefits. Land use strategies, transportation, real estate and infrastructure investments should not only make communities less vulnerable, but also strengthen cities overall, enhancing environmental performance, economic opportunity, and social cohesion.
