I'm Joel Dyson, graduate of Eastman School of Music in vocal performance and owner of Beyond the Stage LLC. Growing up, the creative arts was an integral part of my education fueling the tentacles of my success: passion, discipline, and grit. But I have to admit, maintaining this attitude as I watched my parents struggle to pay for a plane ticket to my next young artist program I'd been accepted to on full scholarship or 20% of my college tuition was unnerving. As a young, gifted Black girl, my heart ached for other minorities alike whose access to higher education was limited due to a lack of resources and/or opportunity. It was then that I vowed to change that narrative.
Beyond the Stage LLC is an arts education and entertainment company that provides professional performing arts instruction: voice, beginner piano, and theater to children ages 4+. We believe that children are most successful when they feel loved and supported, so we pride ourselves in creating a safe, nurturing environment where kids feel comfortable to be themselves. Our instruction lies at the heart of encouraging critical thinking and social skills. Our programming comprises of private lessons, after-school community outreach initiatives, performances, and masterclass opportunities where students receive top tier instruction and network with creative professionals from around the globe.
It is our goal to reach as many genius children as possible regardless of their race, class or gender. We believe that every child deserves an unlimited amount of resources to excel in education and it is our mission to provide as many resources as possible, especially now when many families are faced with unprecedented perils.
