Black Women Birthing Justice (BWBJ) has become a 501C3!

Big News! In 2022, we incorporated and gained our 501c3 status with the Federal Government.

We encourage you to donate to BWBJ to help with our mission to transform birthing experiences, improve birth outcomes, increase culturally congruent care and reduce mortalities within our Black birthing population.

BWBJ  wants to impact this issue in the coming months by providing  Black Doula Trainings and Mentorships to ensure that Black Doulas are ready for the MediCal Doula Benefit which went into effect on January I, 2023.  This bill allows any MediCal beneficiary to have Doula Support during prenatal, birth and postpartum -- up to one year after the birth.

We need more Black Doulas to be able to help Black families in California have better birth outcomes, and Doulas have been proven to do just that!
