If you live in Lebanon, you have a daily experience of what is happening. If you live outside of Lebanon, you hear what you see on the news. Either way, you touch a story of Lebanon that is filled with one crisis after another. A revolution in 2019, a global pandemic in 2020, along with a port explosion and an economic crash, and most recently a war. Many families struggle to meet daily needs, young people dream of opportunities that feel out of reach, and entire communities wrestle with the pain of loss and displacement. There is a constant drone sound over Beirut and the South of Lebanon, reminding us that the possibility of continued conflict is always lurking. It’s a bleak picture (if you just look at these things.)

And yet — in the midst of all this  — we continue to witness remarkable hope, courage and faith. Hope in Lebanon is not naïve. It is proven, born from the belief that light is stronger than darkness.

What’s happening right now in Lebanon is hopeful. Change is possible. Lebanon is facing an unprecedented, new moment where things could change. And even if the situation doesn’t change, there is still a deep hope anchored in God’s goodness and plan. We’re hopeful, and expectant that in the midst of whatever happens and how things seem, that there are good things happening and yet to come.

Thank you for being part of the growing hope that has happened this year - it’s been a big year!

We’re excited for what is coming in this next year. We’ll continue deepening relationships with young people and their families in the community. We’ll learn better how to tackle some of the major obstacles that are keeping young people from succeeding. And we’ll continue to grow.

We all have something to give. We invite you to give and tell others too!
