Our mission has always been to help thoroughbreds not only in Puerto Rico but also in the lower Caribbean Islands such as St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Tortola. Many race horses get shipped down to these islands from the US mainland and Puerto Rico every year. Since Hurricane Maria the racetracks in these islands have closed down. Many thoroughbreds were left to fend for themselves or horse owners just after time did not have the resources to care for them anymore. Golden Age Ranch in St Thomas has taken in many horses over the years and tried their hardest to care for them. This last year with more struggles than ever they have reached out to CTA to help with the horses in their care. They are in need to move 12 thoroughbreds off of the island. These horses all have a soft spot to land in the US thanks to Dark Horse Stables in Florida. The cost of the first movement for 6 horses is going to be $29,532. There has been $5000 collected so far, we are reaching out to any previous connections of these horses, breeders, trainers, owners, grooms, jockeys and so on to share our fundraiser to help these horses get back home.
