Thank you so much to all of you who have supported us since moving to Bellaire to take over our bed & breakfast. It's been a very rewarding season for our organization!
In the past year and a half, we've been able to hire survivors of human trafficking on our cleaning staff, we've hosted 67 survivors in our space for retreats, and we've acted as a temporary, safe shelter for two survivors exiting the sex industry.
We've served girls as young as 12 years old who have been exploited, and we've provided resources to women as old as 62 through our weekend getaways here at the Inn and long-term mentorship and resources.
This place has allowed us to grow exponentially in our ability to serve the incredible women we have the privilege of coming alongside. In just 18 short months, we've managed to accomplish every goal we set out to see through when we first took over, and we're SO excited for the future.
We have three retreats on the books over the next several months for survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse in our space, and we need your help to make them extra special for the amazing survivors we serve!
Here's what this amount will cover:
1. Art therapy for 45 clients
2. A cooking class/ongoing nutrition support for 45 clients
3. A stay at our Inn for 45 clients, and 12 support staff from safe houses across Michigan
4. All food costs during our time together
5. All excursions, workshop materials, and welcome bag items for 45 clients and the 12 staff members
We're so excited to welcome these women into our space this year, and we are so grateful for each of you who has helped us come alongside survivors of human trafficking since we took over in September 2023.
Thank you all so much for helping us see this project through so that we can continue to be a safe haven for survivors of human trafficking. We are the only anti-trafficking organization in Antrim County right now, and we are getting calls frequently to serve survivors across Northern MI. It's a big job, but we're so humbled to be part of the work happening here in our area.
