As an organization, Freedom Summit Adventures is bringing a group to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest, free-standing mountain, in Moshi, Tanzania, in East Africa. This mountain stands more than 19,000 feet in elevation, and we will be climbing it in support of our anti-trafficking work through Freedom Summit Adventures.  

Freedom Adventures host trauma-informed, holistic wellness retreats for women who have experienced any kind of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, or human trafficking across the United States. We summit mountains with survivors as the physical representation of the emotional and spiritual "mountains" they've been climbing. We believe that the path to healing is never easy, but neither are our summit hikes. We can do hard things, but it's more fun to do them within a supportive community of women. 

At these retreats, survivors learn basic elements of good nutrition, they participate in an outdoor excursion, and experience trauma-informed practices like yoga, art therapy, and massage therapy. Dreams are being achieved through this organization, while the lives of women are being elevated and changed at a deep level. I can't believe I get to share these beautiful spaces with incredible survivors across the country. 

We are so excited to test our limits in Tanzania, and potentially change the trajectory of a woman's life in the process. In total, our goal is to raise $25,000 to allow our organization to put on an entire retreat out of state for Michigan survivors of human trafficking.  

We want to invite you into this story, and ask if you'd be willing to financially support this adventure, and the incredible women served by our organization. We would love to answer any questions you have about this trip, and we can't wait to stand on the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro because of your generosity. 

We'll be bringing a list of names to the very top of Kilimanjaro with us of those who supported us and made this dream a reality. We'll share a picture of us (hopefully) at the top with that list and send it your way once we've completed our trek!
