As the Homecare ministry grew, so did their vision for the entire country of Burundi. For several years now, Hope4Burundi and its partner, Homecare, have been praying about expanding the ministry into the rural areas outside the capital. After much prayer, God has opened the doors to extend ministry in Kibungo, Matana province in the rural mountain region of Burundi. Connecting with the local Kibungo church, Homecare leaders been sharing Jesus in the village through evangelistic outreach, distribution of clean water filters, sharing Bibles, helping widows begin raising sheep and crops, as well as gaining access to regional high schools to share the gospel with and mentor high school students. These open doors have prepared the way to establish a SECOND much prayed for ministry center in Burundi!
The second ministry center in Kibungo (Homecare Kibungo) started operating this October! It is open for the purpose of sharing the Gospel, providing sewing skills and literacy training for widows and orphans, and counseling and trauma healing for all who have experienced abuse. The first class is comprised of 20 widows and orphans. The staff from Homecare Bujumbura and the staff from Homecare Kibungo will also continue to mentor high school students.
We would love to have this operational year (2018-2019) be fully funded as we move into 2019! Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and donations!
