"Through my own involvement in chess as a kid and as a volunteer coach with Learners Chess Academy, I have experienced and seen the beneficial impact that chess has had on hundreds of kids in Albuquerque. Chess improves analytical and strategic skills, builds confidence, and develops the ability to win and lose with humility, all of which are critical qualities for future leaders of this world.

Once learned, chess is a universal language that transcends national borders. In other words, chess can build bridges to new communities. I am truly excited to visit Kapsabet. I hope to give back some of what chess has given to me and learn as much as I can from the local community.
