Financial freedom is one of the greatest sources of empowerment and change. This is achieved through consistent income and financial literacy. Richard Hunt, a 6th grade Operation Progress Fort Worth (OPFW) Scholar., has secured his first job and is on his journey to empowerment. Richard will be responsible for the lawn care of a property in the Como community under the supervision of Officer Nicholson (FWPD and OPFW Mentor).

Richard is a proud resident of the Como community with deep historical family roots. Richard's great-grandfather's first job was cutting lawns in Como. Two generations later, Richard will continue to be a change agent for his community through horticulture. Richard states, "I am excited about my job and helping to make my community beautiful. I love Como and proud of living here! My goal is to start my own lawn service, and I am thankful to have my first property."

We need your help to get Richard started. He is currently in need of a uniform (including 11.5 sized work boots and a reflective vest), lawn mower, battery powered trimmer/edger combo, leaf blower, outdoor trash bags, turf builder triple action, Ortho insect spray, plastic rake, goggles, gloves, weed spreader, soil rake, and moth balls. Please donate to aid Richard in securing the necessary supplies in order to be a master of his trade.
