The Positive Growth Inc. Boys Home works on behalf of male minors between the ages of 12 and 21 who have a child welfare status and who are unable to live at home. They may have been removed from their home because of abuse, neglect, abandonment or are in need of supervision. Youth removed from their families and placed in the foster care system have increased risk factors for developing social and mental health issues.
However, it has been proven that social and recreational activities protect them against the disruptions caused by the foster care system. The more we can keep our boys engaged in positive, structured extracurricular activities the better off they will be.
