Dear friends and family of the Proctorsville Fire Department, 

We are writing to ask for your support.  

It goes without saying that 2020 was a trying year for ALL.  To all those who have experienced illness, loss, and hardship -- we feel for you.  

On our end, we have had one of our busiest years in history, responding to structure fires, brush fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical assists, natural disasters, alarms, as well as many mutual aid assignments to our surrounding towns.  And through all of this, our members have had to negotiate COVID safety guidelines to keep both us and the public safe.  

While our Prudential Board supports us generously through town tax dollars, a huge part of our operating and equipment budget every year comes from our many fundraisers that we hold -- coin drops, the town-wide yard sale, raffles, and Christmas Tree sales.  Sadly, though, COVID conditions were further complicated by Rt. 131 road construction to put a roadblock on our October coin drop.  And, we just didn’t feel it was safe or appropriate to interact with the public to sell Christmas trees, given state restrictions.  Losing our coin drop and Christmas Tree sale amounts to a roughly $6,000 shortfall to our budget. 

So, we are reaching out to you -- the family, friends, and neighbors who are always there for us, grateful for our work and providing the pillars of support that keep a volunteer organization standing strong.  We realize that we are not the only ones experiencing financial hardship, but we ask that you please give whatever you are able to to help us bridge the gap in our fundraising shortfall.
