Rainewable, a Texas Enactus Project: Clean Water for All

Most recent UNICEF/WHO Joint Monitoring Programme Report documents that 570 million children worldwide lack access to clean drinking water at their schools.  We are working to fix that. The Rainewable project is part of Texas Enactus, a student-led social entrepreneurial organization at the University of Texas at Austin. Through partnering with Localized Water Solutions and Project Schoolhouse, we developed a rainwater catchment system that allows for the collection and consumption of safe drinking water for rural communities without access to safe water. 

We are fundraising to bring the rainwater catchment system to one community in Nicaragua. After building a prototype on UT’s campus, Rainewable team members will bring their expertise to Nicaragua to build the system during a 10-day trip, providing the community with a clean, sustainable, and convenient water source.
