During the month of October, local police departments from across York County come together for some friendly competition to raise funds in support of the Children’s Advocacy Center of York County (CACYC). The CACYC partners with various public, private, state, county and local organizations to provide a collaborative, coordinated systematic response to child abuse investigations, performing child-friendly forensic interviews, as well as providing compassionate care and support for the child victim and their families, with the singular goal of minimizing trauma and supporting their journey towards healing. Blues for Bucks is our way of having some fun – either by choosing to forgo shaving or sporting blue nail polish, while also raising money for this important community nonprofit.
