Update - Sep. 20, '17

There are currently 550 Dutch military personnel working in St Maarten, 49 National Police officers providing support to St Maarten’s police force, and 40 members of the Urban Search and Rescue Team helping to provide emergency relief and restore fire and ambulance services. Over four thousand people have now been evacuated. Food, water and medical supplies are being transported to the island daily by sea and air. The priority for the immediate future is the further restoration of vital infrastructure: the airport, sea port, prison, water supplies, homes, the hospital, GP clinics, pharmacies and schools, as well as improving the effectiveness of distribution points.

Update - Sep. 12, '17

Evacuation efforts continue through the coordination of the Dutch Marines & Navy. Dutch King Willem Alexander has assessed the damage around the island and so has French President Macron. They arrived on the island Monday Sep. 11 and Tuesday Sep. 12 respectively. Communication and electricity is still largely down. Clean water sources are limited. Royal Caribbean will make its second call to port on Sep. 14 to assist with further evacuation efforts as well as bring emergency relief aid to the many people of St Maarten who are in dire need.

Update - Sep. 9, '17

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our St Maarten Hurricane Irma Relief Fund. Relief efforts around the island are ongoing. Electricity and communication lines remain largely down. Evacuation efforts that began yesterday are ongoing in coordination with the Dutch Marines who are in control of SXM Airport. They also continue to assist throughout the island, however, we are now bracing for Hurricane Jose which is expected to pass over the southwest portion of the island; it is expected that we will experience at least tropical storm force winds.
