Talent is a Burlington-based nonprofit that uses skateboarding to engage, support, and inspire young people—especially those who may not find their place in traditional sports or activities. Through our indoor skatepark and outreach, we provide a safe, welcoming community for kids who need it most.
Community Partnerships: We work with the Boys & Girls Club, Spectrum Youth Services, the Chill Foundation, Howard Center, local schools, and residential programs to offer lessons, group sessions, and mentorship.
Inclusive Innovation: This year, we launched Vermont’s first adaptive skateboarding program with Green Mountain Adaptive, serving kids who are blind, deaf, or living with mobility challenges—including wheelchair users.
Access & Scholarships: Every camp session includes full scholarships for kids in need—covering tuition, sneakers, pads, helmets, and skateboards.
Unseen Impact: Beyond structured programs, we quietly step in to meet kids’ needs—whether that’s waiving fees, providing equipment, or connecting them with social services.
At a time when Burlington lacks adequate youth spaces (with 242 Main closed and even our high school in a mall), Talent fills a critical gap. We run on a lean budget, and your support would make an immediate difference. A gift of $5,000 from 100 Women Who Care would fund 10 full scholarships—covering camp fees, gear, and mentorship for kids who otherwise couldn’t attend.
I’d love to share more—or better yet, invite you to see Talent in action. Saturday morning beginner sessions are pure joy and a perfect window into what makes this place so special.
With gratitude and light,
Hannah Deene, Founder/Executive Director
