“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. “- Galatians 6: 2

In 2012 the suicide rate for veterans was 22 a day! Due to a large increase in awareness, funding for mental health, breaking the stigma, this number dropped to 17 veterans a day in 2022. Reports show that nearly half 41% of all veterans show a need for mental health care.

The Lord calls us to help one another. To serve others and to carry each other’s burdens.

We are picking up our rucks to resemble carrying another’s burdens. We will likely complain and need to “embrace the suck”, but we will work together, overcome obstacles, and cross that finish line!

We are hoping to raise money to help provide a service dog to a veteran or first responder.

Service dogs are trained to pick up stress signals and intervene with the owner to shift the focus back to a positive environment. Service dogs help veterans and others by using trained tasks to mitigate symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, and hyper-vigilance, leading to improved well-being and self-sufficiency.

These individuals have willingly put their life on the line for others. Let us support them, quiet their minds, provide companionship and show our appreciation.
