Smiles seen, Memories Made, Lives changed!

Celebrating our 36th year, the United States Adaptive Recreation Center is a non-profit organization providing adapted recreation activities through its winter and summer programs to physically and cognitively challenged children and adults. The funds raised in the annual Ski-A-Thon help purchase adaptive ski equipment, train numerous volunteers and professional staff members and subsidize the cost of every single lesson.

Located at Bear Mountain Resort in Big Bear Lake, the USARC is the only program of its kind in the region. Lessons are provided to people with spinal cord injuries, visual impairments, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, amputations, cognitive disabilities, cerebral palsy, brain injuries and many others.

Everybody wins! Sponsors can deduct donations, and participants receive the following...

  • Full-day ticket to Bear Mountain (with PRICELESS line cutting privileges)
  • Cotton Ski-A-Thon T-shirt
  • Lunch voucher
  • Opportunity drawing for a 2026-2027 Bear Mountain Resort anytime season pass and other GREAT prizes
  • Prize for top Fundraiser!

...and USARC continues to offer life changing programs.  In the end the real winners are the disabled children and adults who discover their potential through USARC programs made possible by the success of the Ski-A-Thon.

* Some restrictions apply to prizes. USARC is a 501(c)3 organization, donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law. In the event of cancellations or non-participation, funds raised are not refundable and are not transferable to subsequent events.
