I’m proud to be raising $1,000 to support students and teachers at De Diego Elementary School in Chicago through WITS (Working in the Schools).
What drew me in, and keeps me involved, is the direct, one-on-one impact with students. WITS pairs volunteers with students to build reading skills, confidence, and exposure to new environments.
This fundraising effort will help provide books for both at-home libraries and classrooms, ensuring students have consistent access to the resources they need to succeed. Access to books is one of the most proven ways to improve academic outcomes, vocabulary development, and long-term confidence.
