Each year over 3,500 families will be impacted by an amniotic fluid embolism — a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity across the globe. Currently, there is no known cause or effective treatment. 

Together, we can change this.

Be the Light is guiding principle of the AFE Foundation. As the only organization dedicated to amniotic fluid embolism research, the AFE Foundation is dedicated to finding the cause and a means of prediction and prevention and saving lives through advancing research and promoting clinician education.
