Jambo! My name is Doricas Nicodem. I am 13 years old and I study in Standard 7 at Bwilando Primary School.

I live with my mother, two sisters and one brother. My father is crippled because he fell from a tree. He is at the Mbeya regional hospital.

At home I wash dishes, fetch water, collect firewood, clean and do farm work. My favorite work at home is to clean the house and the compound because I want to protect myself and my family from diseases.

At school my favorite subject is science because it has a lot of things to learn.

In the future, I want to become a doctor because I want to treat and help patients.

I want my village to have desks at school, text books, enough teachers, a hospital and shelter for the animals.
