Jambo! My name is Isaka Nasubile. I am 12 years old and I study at Ipoma Primary School in Standard 7.

I live with my aunt and two sisters. My mother left when I was young and my father, who was the head teacher at school, died in a car accident.

When I go home after school, I fetch the water from the river and it takes 30 minutes. We grow maize, bananas, beans, sweet potatoes and tea. We also take care of pigs and chickens.

History is my favorite subject at school because I can learn about the past and the time of my grandfathers.

In the future I want to help take care of the security of my country.

In my village, I want to see a clinic, piped water and desks at school, and I hope it will be easier to get school fees.
