Fields of goldenrod, sunflowers, and blackberry bushes, peaceful ponds and sleepy streams, breathtaking views of the Linganore valley, chances to spot birds and frogs, make nature art, and interact with monarch butterflies - these are just a few of the many reasons I support Audubon Society of Central Maryland, which owns and manages two nature preserves in Frederick County.
Another reason is the incredible birders who donate so much of their time and energy to leading nature outings, conducting bird counts, and showing off these beautiful properties. I've learned so much from them and admire their skills and powers of observation.
You can join me in showing support for these magnificent wild lands and our dedicated naturalists by donating to our Birdathon fundraiser. I will be going out this spring to see how many bird species I can find in a 24-hour period. Cheer me on with your donation!
