This donation is in memory of my mother, Carol Tveekrem. She had a lifelong love of birds. She never lived in Maryland, but went birding with me whenever she visited. She would have appreciated ASCM. In the 1960s she and a fellow birding friend founded the Moriches Bay Audubon Society on Long Island. She was also active in the environmental movement, particularly the efforts to pass the Clean Water Act and to ban DDT. In the 1970s in Ohio she helped found the Greater Akron Audubon Society and served as its president. In the 1980s, after being out of college for 25 years and raising three children, she returned to earn her Masters in Ornithology. She became an active bird bander in Ohio and Minnesota for about 30 years. She died in 2022 at the age of 84. She was truly an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Sammy, be good.
