Fields of goldenrod, sunflowers, and blackberry bushes, trees and meadows alive with a diversity of birds, peaceful ponds and sleepy streams, breathtaking views of the Linganore valley, chances to hear frogs, make nature art, and interact with monarch butterflies - these are just a few of the many reasons I support Audubon Society of Central Maryland, which owns and manages two nature preserves in Frederick County. These properties are increasingly important to birds and other wildlife, who are losing ground to threats such as habitat loss and climate change.

Another reason I support ASCM is the incredible birders who donate so much of their time and energy to leading nature outings, conducting bird counts, and showing off these beautiful properties. I've learned so much from them and admire their skills and powers of observation.
