The Gospel is on the move across every part of the world. 

So often, it can feel like the world is stuck, but that’s not true. Every moment, the Lord is grabbing hold of another life, using people like you and me to reach someone else while continuing to transform us on the way.

On a Saturday morning drive to Love Your City, Monica, the director in Costa Rica, was talking with a volunteer who had come a few times before. Seated next to her, Monica started to share, “Do you know what we do all this for— why we go into these neighborhoods to know and love families? Because Jesus is there—for us and for them.” It was a moment that felt ordinary, but when Monica looked over, the volunteer had tears streaming down her cheeks. Overwhelmed by what she heard, she knew she was there for more than a volunteer opportunity. She was there to encounter Jesus. 

Jesus asked a question in the midst of this heart-grabbing moment that He is also asking you and me: What will you do with the Gospel? 

We see the Gospel bubbling up and pouring out across the rust-tattered slums in Costa Rica, through the bullet-battered buildings in Lebanon, and across every corner of the world. The Gospel is the good news that changes everything, and it requires us to act.

God has shown us this: The way of the Gospel is transformative for the poor. We see this demonstrated in places of physical poverty, which quickly brings people to an awareness of their spiritual poverty. But this truth is for you and me as much as those out there: Jesus is close, willing, and eager to take us on this Gospel journey, and we will see power when we go. 

Boy With a Ball launches young leaders into the most difficult neighborhoods around the world. These teams befriend, love, and disciple as messengers of the Gospel that is so desperately needed. Then a miracle happens: the neighborhoods are equipped to carry the Gospel in their hearts and share it with their families, businesses, and city. This is how city-wide transformation works.

This giving season, we are asking you to help this grow into new cities. In slums and refugee camps, in run-down apartment buildings and in our own neighborhoods, Jesus is at work, changing everything. By coming close to where we see the Gospel flowing, it will begin to trickle and flow across our own lives more and more.
