Across Kenya, many young people are growing up in hurting neighbourhoods—crowded settlements where poverty is deep, families of five share single rooms, water only comes if it is carried in by a bucket and young people drop out of school with few options beyond the streets. Yet these are places alive with children's laughter and young hearts hungry for something greater.
We believe transformation begins when we walk with young people right where they are —building relationships rooted in love and trust that help them discover their worth, find Jesus, and grow as leaders. This brings hope and love back to their neighbourhoods.
When we first met Sharon, she was 13 years old. She was struggling to stay in school and unsure of her future. Through walking with her in discipleship, she found a supportive community that believed in her. Sharon went on to graduate from university, secure a job, and is now a committed team leader— mentoring young girls in her neighbourhood and helping families find hope again.
Sharon is just one story.
This year alone, our impact has grown from 2232 to over 3516 people. Much like the miraculous catch of fish, as we “recast the nets” with this focus on discipleship, young people are rising, giving their lives to Jesus, and now are changemakers from within the community, small groups are expanding across the neighbourhoods, and families are being restored. Places once marked by despair are growing stronger by the power of God.
And we’re just getting started.
Our hope is for this movement of young people to grow, and we dream of a Kenya where every young person is being discipled and rising to help change their community.
