Campaign Description

Georgia Running Tribe of 17 Women take on the Rocket City Marathon on December 14, 2019 to benefit the youth development organization Camp Fire.

On 12/14 all 17 of us will be running the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville, Alabama.

Who are the 17 of us? We are mothers and daughters, wives and sisters, aunts and grandmothers, and we are a strong tribe of 17 long distance runners in our 20's to our 50's with 168 completed marathons & one 50 mile Ultramarathon.

We train together every morning out on our local Forsyth Greemway in Cumming, GA. Running long runs and short runs, tempos and intervals, hill work and speed work. Everyday…every morning.

Leading up to this race we decided we wanted to all run for--Camp Fire, an organization that needs help not only financially, but also one that needs awareness to its growing youth development programs.

We would love to have your support for our efforts towards our goal for Camp Fire and running 26.2 miles on December 14th!

Camp Fire has been an innovative leader in youth development for more than 100 years. They have a rich legacy! You might remember them as Camp Fire Girls or Camp Fire USA, which were key parts of the organizational journey. What’s kept them thriving? Their commitment to diversity and inclusion from the very beginning; incorporating youth voice into all they do; and their intentional effort to reflect, evolve & use cutting-edge research to best meet the needs of today’s families.
