Poplar Road Elementary is located in Senoia, Georgia. 557 children attend this Coweta County elementary school where 48% of the children receive free or reduced lunch and 49% of the population is unchurched.
White Oak Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church hosts the Good News Club® at this school- sharing the Gospel and teaching God's Word to 60 kids and their families last year alone! This year one of those precious kids made the decision to trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior!
Here's a little about the Good News Club at Poplar Road Elementary:
"This is one of the Prayer requests from our GNC children, that we put in our church prayer request sheet each week exactly how they write it; From a 1st Grader- I thank God for all he does for us and than you Jesus for dying for our sins. That whoever doesn't know God or love Him that they might start Good News Club. 3rd Grader– I hope that we will be with God all the time, and that we can see the world from Gods eyes. These give me chills to know these children are praying like this to our Lord so young and I think they are getting it. We don't know exactly how many really start Sunday School as a result of GNC until sometimes the next year. Thank YOU LORD for these children.
"A couple of weeks ago, one little boy said, "he got a frowny face from God that week that is why he acted up", so when we asked him about the Lord helping him and prayer, he said he knew the Holy Spirit could help him. We feel he is making progress and listening even though it seems he isn't. I Spoke to his Mom and Dad about him having a good day this week, and him learning his memory verse for this week and told her about the conversation above with one of the Shepherd's and they said he had been being bullied so he was on the defensive. We don't know what they young ones go through, so very important to make contact a few times with parents. Just one more share another little girl had a prayer request this week for other children to come to Good News Club so they could learn how to be saved. Thank You Lord for The Good News."
