When Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina, an estimated 40 trillion gallons of water moved across the landscape.  There were over 1,400 landslides  Over 160 sewer and water systems were damaged, not including all the individual wells.  At least 6,000 roads were affected. More than 1,000 bridges were damaged.  An estimated 126,000 homes were flooded or destroyed.  And the residents were unsuspecting of anything other than some hurricane effect rain and wind.

CCRT has been on the ground since the second day after the hurricane struck.  With help of wonderful donors and a fleet of aircraft and trucks we coordinated to bring in over 1 million pounds of supplies directly to the residents.  Since that time we have continued to be involved with ongoing recovery efforts.

Unfortunately there are still missing people, and there is an ongoing need to bring closure to their families.

So many people with great intentions and a heart posture that renews your faith in humanity have reached out to help.  They've asked how, how can they support the people of WNC who've lost everything!?  

In North Carolina, we have been using our boats to transport cadaver K9 teams to log jams to search, and then transporting our chainsaw teams to the area to help clear debris for the actual recovery.  

We currently have 3 flat bottom aluminum "duck" boats with outboard engines.  We also had an inflatable "Zodiac" type boat which was very useful in shallow water and was easy to carry across dry land moving from flooded area to flooded area.  Unfortunately our inflatable boat was recently damaged beyond repair.

Due to very low water levels in some areas, the inflatable is the ideal boat choice for this mission.  In addition, a "mud motor" which is designed for very shallow water would allow us to maneuver the boat better.

We are trying to raise funds to purchase this vital piece of equipment.  As a 100% volunteer organization, 100% of funds raised goes directly to the purchase of essentials mission supplies.
