Here at Compost Crusader, we see the value in our waste. We are a small, woman-owned business from Milwaukee, WI that works to empower residents, institutions and businesses to divert food scraps from the landfill. We provide a curbside pick-up service and haul the material to a DNR approved compost site for processing.

Currently, there is only one DNR approved compost site in south eastern Wisconsin and recently they've placed limitations on what they accept, so we are looking to change that. Compost Crusader wants to build lasting green infrastructure by creating a compost site with the specific purpose of diverting post-consumer food scraps. In creating an alternative compost site, we'll be able to expand with growing diversion demands, keep nutrient-rich food out of landfills, and make composting more equitable.
