Growing up, I thought me and my sister, Idi, were the only ones who were “cursed” with sickle cell dis-ease. That quickly changed when I started going to camp at the age of 7. I saw and met so many others like me who understood what I was going through. And guess what, they weren’t all Black; they were Hispanic, Indian, and Caucasian! Sickle cell dis-ease doesn’t discriminate so why should we? Let's raise $5000 to break the stigma that SCD is only a Black dis-ease.
