C.U.R.E.’s story began in 1976, when Rochester-area parents who had experienced the loss of a child to cancer came together to support one another. They understood something that no one should ever have to learn firsthand: when a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire Family is affected. They recognized that Families facing childhood cancer needed more than medical care. They needed understanding, compassion, and people who would stand beside them through every step of their journey. And so, they came together to create that support.

For 50 years, C.U.R.E. has been there. Today, C.U.R.E. provides emotional, educational, social, and financial support to Rochester-area Families whose children are facing cancer or a chronic blood disorder.

From diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and bereavement, C.U.R.E. reminds Families that they do not have to walk this road alone. What began as a group of parents helping one another has grown into an organization that touches the lives of hundreds of local Families each year, thanks to you and to the support of our community.
