Rachelle Barimany Dove is a gemologist, chief financial officer, and co-owner of Dominion Jewelers, a family-owned jewelry store in Falls Church that has proudly served Northern Virginia for more than 40 years. A native of Northern Virginia, Rachelle brings more than two decades of experience designing bespoke fine jewelry, complemented by a passion for business development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.

A sought-after speaker and media contributor, Rachelle has appeared on ABC 7’s Good Morning Washington and FOX 5 Morning News, sharing her expertise on jewelry, gemstones, and industry trends. She recently completed years of service on the Board of Directors of the Falls Church City Economic Development Authority, where she worked to foster a vibrant local business community and support efforts to attract and retain innovative businesses in the city.

Rachelle is a graduate of Marymount University and served on the University’s Alumni Board from 2000 to 2006. Her commitment to civic engagement has continued through leadership roles with the Old Glebe Civic Association, Old Brick House Square, and the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce. She has also dedicated countless hours to volunteering at her daughter’s school, serving in a variety of leadership and fundraising roles focused on strengthening parent engagement and supporting educational initiatives.

Rachelle’s life and perspective have also been profoundly shaped by her family’s experience with Fabry disease, a rare inherited genetic disorder. In 2014, Rachelle lost her mother to complications related to the disease. Following her mother’s passing, Rachelle learned that she, too, had inherited Fabry disease—an unexpected diagnosis that provided answers about her family’s medical history while beginning an entirely new chapter in her own life.

Because Fabry disease is inherited, Rachelle’s diagnosis also raised difficult questions about what it could mean for the next generation. Her daughter, Farrah, was subsequently found to have inherited the disease as well. Experiencing Fabry across three generations of her family—as a daughter who lost her mother, as a patient navigating the disease herself, and as a mother concerned about her child’s future—has given Rachelle a uniquely personal perspective on the impact of rare genetic diseases on individuals and families.

That experience has deepened Rachelle’s appreciation for advances in genetic testing, early diagnosis, treatment, and medical research. It has also reinforced her belief in the importance of patients and families educating themselves, asking questions, advocating for their care, and supporting continued research into rare diseases. Rather than allowing the diagnosis to define her, Rachelle sees it as one part of a much larger story—one centered on family, resilience, purpose, and making the most of the opportunities in front of her.

Beyond her professional and community work, what Rachelle values most is time with her husband, Erik, and their daughter, Farrah. Together, they enjoy traveling, spending time at the beach, skiing, and exploring the outdoors.
