Campaign Description

The Dublin First Responders/Field of Honor Fund was established on the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 to commemorate each life lost on the fateful day that changed our communities, our nation and world. The City of Dublin, Dublin City Schools and Washington Township led the effort joined by hundreds of community volunteers who posted 3,000 full-sized U.S. flags onto one field, where vigil was held for 72 consecutive hours to honor the fallen and the heroes who responded. Residents purchased flags in honor of a loved one. After their flag was flown for the commemoration, each flag was ceremoniously taken from the field and given to those families in tribute.

The Fund has been initiated to provide funding for first responders and support to first response training, safety and collaborative efforts in the Dublin community.
