We live in a world where certain people will do just about anything to avoid taking responsibility for their actions. As unconscionable as it may seem some people will go so far as to exploit sympathy, time and vital resources away from Domestic Shelter programs to play the victim. Legal abuse makes a mockery of real woman’s real suffering while hindering the progress of female empowerment. Some of us may have been made unknowing enablers of these Pretender’s we sheltered, they weaken our fight while exploiting our mission for their own selfish and abusive purposes while the victims are left facing legal fees. Being labeled an abuser can cost a person their reputation, career, not to mention destroy their health. Enough is enough, the pain of domestic abuse is not your get our a relationship guilt free card…. Women’s groups are not here to play pretend while you diminish our cause!
