Join us at the 10th Annual Family Promise of Gainesville Bed Race in early 2024!

Corporate and community teams of five people build their beds and compete for the top spots in creativity, fundraising and, of course, speed on the racetrack!

As Family Promise of Gainesville's signature fundraising event, the Bed Race drives the ability to mobilize community resources to provide compassionate care, shelter, meals and case management to children and families experiencing homelessness.

What is a bed race?

Teams of five (5), four (4) racers and one (1) rider, sign up to race a bed on wheels down a 100-yard track. Bed must adhere to guidelines. 

Youth (middle and high school age groups) and adult teams (18+) are accepted. 

The entry fee for teams is $100.00 to be paid at the time of registration.

Teams choose their own theme to decorate the bed and participants are encouraged to dress along with the chosen bed theme. 

Teams advance through a series of heats and some serious fun! 

Prizes are awarded to teams for fastest bed, best bed construction and design, best overall theme (based on bed and participant costumes), people's choice (based on event day support) and highest fundraisers. 

PrizesWe ask that team members raise an additional $150 each to benefit Family Promise of Gainesville and our mission to end childhood homelessness in our community.

Make a donation to a specific team or to the general Bed Race fundraiser as we raise money to end childhood homelessness in our community.

Join us at the race to cheer on teams and watch the races. We will have food, games, face painting, a bounce house, and lots of great raffles and prizes from local businesses.
