SOLRAD (noun) sol∙rad | sōl-răd –
1. a wavy line in illustration (especially comics) that represents light and/or warmth emanating from the sun or other light sources.
2. a literary magazine for comics founded in 2020
SOLRAD will turn 5 in January, and now more than ever, we could use your help! While we can't send our beloved literary magazine to kindergarten, we do need to cover rising infrastructure costs and planned increases to contributor payment in 2025.
SOLRAD is a nonprofit literary magazine published by a staff of volunteer editors and publishers. It relies on the generosity of its readers to keep it running. Similar to your local NPR station, SOLRAD is brought to you by readers like you. SOLRAD is designed to be a place where the readers and makers of sequential story telling can find reflection, discernment, and connection with the larger world.
It's our hope that we can continue to make SOLRAD an excellent place for readers to find new comics, see new perspectives, and read underrepresented voices - but to do that, we need your help.
