This past year was an absolute banner year for our organization in our new forever home.
We set out with three goals when we purchased this Bed & Breakfast in Northern MI:
1. Create sustainable employment for survivors leaving the sex industry/human trafficking situations
2. Become more financially sustainable as an organization, and less donor reliant, relying on income from the Bed & Breakfast to support our mission.
3. Have a space for our retreats and long-term mentorship program that we could tailor specifically to the needs of survivors.
In our first year, we had 67 survivors join us in this space through our retreats and outreach efforts. We hired two women on our cleaning staff as they figure out what's next for them. AND, we reduced our fundraising efforts by 62%.
And YOU all helped us secure this space last year. Thank you, thank you, thank you. As you may have noticed, we were quiet this year on the fundraising front. And honestly, we were able to spend so much more intentional time with our clients and guests, as we stepped into this new space. It was such a gift.
So, this is our only huge fundraising initiative for this year!
In order to make it through Spring 2025, with the retreats we've got in place, and to ensure we can continue to support the salaries of two survivors as they go through our program, our goal by December 31st is $30,000.
This $30,000 will allow us to support 42 additional women.
We'd love to have you join us in this endeavor, and help us continue to support survivors right here in Northern MI.
This year, we've grown exponentially because we are shedding light to the issue of human trafficking in Northern MI, as one of the only organizations working to fight this injustice in our area. So many women who have had no where to turn after sexual exploitation are coming our way, and we are so grateful to be here with open arms.
