In 2019, GivePower installed the first solar energy farm in North Dakota at Standing Rock Reservation. Named the “Cannonball Community Solar Farm,” it is already responsible for 50% of the entire state’s solar power. The solar farm is a testament to the tribe’s efforts to preserve their lands, culture and history through new technologies that ensure long-term sustainability and big energy independence.

Currently, the farm powers a Sioux Nation Community Center and a Veterans’ Memorial building and has a projected cost savings of $7,000 - $10,000 annually -- all of which is being put directly back into the community.
