In 2015 my friend Brian invited me to be apart of a pilot program as a mentor for a high school student in Crenshaw (West LA). My wife, Christina, and I had plans to move back to Chicago later in the year, however, I felt like the opportunity would be a worthwhile investment, no matter the timeframe. Spending time with these kids during my last 6 months in L.A. was such a rich experience! These kids changed me. I've come to believe there is so much GOOD in each of us, sometimes it simply takes being surrounded by a community to help draw it out of us. I believe that is exactly what's happening with Good City Mentors and I believe that every kid deserves a mentor.
For the last two years I've been able to partner from a distance, share in celebrating Good City Mentors' impact and dream of what it would look like for the youth of each of our cities to be able to gain mentoring opportunities like Good City Mentors.
Would you be willing to join me by investing in an opportunity for kid to gain a mentor this year?
