NVSA is excited to host3.21 Play! Fundraiser in support of Hearts of Joy International, a non profit organization that provides lie saving heart surgery to individuals with Down syndrome in underserved communities.

NVSA is a family owned and operated business, and as a part of the NVSA community, chances are you know Edin and Haris. Edin and Haris are an integral part of NVSA and are by far everyone's favorite staff members. You may often see them in our camp carpool line, assisting at birthday parties, or lending a helping hand during clinics and camps. Edin and Haris were born with Down Syndrome and what you might not know is that both Edin and Haris underwent life-saving heart surgery shortly after birth. Thanks to the success of these surgeries, they are now vibrant and healthy twenty year olds.

50% of babies born with Down syndrome have a cardiac defect requiring immediate surgery to prevent fatality. Sadly, in many developing countries, these children are neglected due to poverty and insufficient resources, simply because of their disability. At NVSA, we firmly advocate for equal treatment and proper care for all individuals born with Down Syndrome, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive, just like Edin and Haris. Their story highlights the critical need for immediate medical intervention for babies born with Down Syndrome, particularly in regions where resources are scarce.
