Hi, friends! Can I impose upon you for just a minute or two?
HERE'S THE STORY: Konbit Sante is turning 25 this year! Our small but mighty organization plays a vital role providing support to health systems in Northern Haiti. I've had the privilege of serving as Executive Director for almost three years. I view myself as the "enabler in chief," helping my dedicated and extraordinary colleagues do what they do best.
GETTING IT DONE: Our funding and public health planning expertise is deployed to improve the quality of care at our partner hospitals and clinics. We pay health worker salaries, procure medicine and equipment for 4 partner health centers, and provide continuing education opportunities to doctors and nurses at those health centers. We work alongside Haitian colleagues to develop solutions to challenges, and we do so with cultural humility and immense respect for patients, medical professionals and the community.
WE'RE THRIFTY: We're very careful with our resources, effective in our operations and clear in our mission, as evidenced by our four-star rating from Charity Navigator.
IT MATTERS: Without our support, the health centers with which we work would not have access to essential life saving medicines, medical equipment such as incubators which are necessary for neonate survival, solar panels for electricity, and training on pediatric emergency care.
YOUR IMPACT: Donating to Konbit Sante will allow us to continue providing our partner health centers the supplies and human resource support they need to continue functioning.
DOING THE RIGHT THING: I've now made eight (8) visits to Haiti, and I can tell you firsthand that the people are incredible - generous, hardworking, kind, welcoming and deserving of the same quality of life any of us would wish for ourselves and our families.
