Milaan Foundation is a social impact organization in India that envisions an inclusive and equal world, where every girl has the knowledge, skills, and social environment to pursue her dreams and explore her full potential.

Milaan works towards empowering girls from some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities of India through The Girl Icon program. This leadership and life-skills based program is a holistic educational initiative that works to ensure that adolescent girls do not drop out from school, are healthy, and protected from all forms of gender-based violence. Our girls grow up to be dreamers, reshaping their destinies to be socially and economically independent, thereby breaking the shackles of intergenerational poverty. 

15-year-old, Girl Icon Ruksar belonging to  the minority community in Lucknow, joined the Girl Icon program with a desire to fight for girl's rights. In the last 2 years, with Milaan's training Ruksar has enrolled 20 dropout girls in schools, and has been imparting life-skills education to 20 adolescent girls in her community. Ruksar has emerged as a social champion and a role model for girls in her community. 

The predicted impact of the global COVID-19 is that more than 20 million girls will never return to school and there will be an unprecedented increase in violence against girls and women. We must, at this moment, believe in the power each one of us has in contributing to a better future.

Milaan is geared to create a greater and deeper impact by working with 10,000 girls in 2021- 22 and I would like to invite YOU to be a part of this transformational initiative. 

One Girl Icon is expected to impact around 120 people in her community over the course of 18 months. You can support one Girl Icon through her leadership training for $75 a month.
