Juneteenth is a federal holiday commemorating the day that all enslaved African Americans learned of the passage of the emancipation proclamation over two years before the news reached them. This holiday signifies our resilience and perservereance. They lied to keep us in shackles though we were free, but we did not stop until that freedom reigned equally to all our kinfolk. 

The second annual "Be Black" day in the park will be hosted by Miss Downtown Los Angeles USA and sponsored by HōM. It will feature musical performances, a basketball competition with prizes, free food and more! All donations go toward the performers, staff and security.
