While we officially became the Network for Social Justice on October 6, 2019, our history dates back to 1991 when we were founded, under the leadership of Sandy Thompson, as the Winchester Multicultural Network.

Although much has changed in the ensuing years--most obviously our name and look--what hasn't is our mission to advance equity and inclusion and our ability to accomplish a lot (educational programs, community engagement and advocacy campaigns) with a little--namely our staff of 3 and shoestring budget. 

We continue to take a leading role in Winchester's transition to becoming an anti-racist community and bring our lessons learned in organizing in the suburbs to surrounding communities. You can get a glimpse of our 30 year history in this short video.
