WHO WE ARE:

One Digital World is a nonprofit that connects refugees worldwide with education that is essential to their integration. We do that by building computer labs in refugee camps and shelters where we provide employable skills training, certifications, and a virtual support network. By gaining computer and internet literacy, conversational english and secondary education students are empowered to join the workforce and be self-sufficient, in a new country and culture upon resettlement. 

Our programs include:

- Digital literacy for Asylum seekers, certifications from Microsoft

- English as a Second Language

- Secondary Education (Math, Science, reasoning through language arts)

- Facilitation of virtual legal services

- Resume building

- Facilitation of online Coursera courses

WHAT WE NEED:

We need to raise $5,000 to open a computer lab inside a migrant shelter in Tijuana, Mexico that provides temporary housing to 155 asylum seekers while they wait for immigration court to reopen and prepare to join the US workforce and become self-reliant in a new country and culture.

These funds will go towards classroom supplies, IT equipment, and a Computer Lab Coordinator.

HOW TO JOIN:

The ODW Hike-a-thon for Refugee Education takes place from November 1 - December 1, 2020. We need you to create a fundraising team and record your hiking and walking miles throughout November OR sponsor a hiking team by pledging a financial sponsorship per mile traveled.
