Dear friends and family of the Proctorsville Fire Department,
One year ago, you responded to our letter campaign with support that helped us exceed our $7,000 fundraising goal. Let us again say THANK YOU.
Our membership remains robust, with over 30 members. We are holding over 50 trainings per year. And we just completed one of our most complexly busy quarters in history – at the close of 2024, we had an unprecedented number of structure fires, multi-vehicle accidents, and brush fires. Many of these calls were mutual aid to neighboring towns, and in every case, Proctorsville Fire promptly fielded full, experienced crews to those calling 911.
Without question, volunteerism in our country faces many challenges. We are GRATEFUL for the participation and health within our department, and aim to keep cultivating that energy and culture. Our district, the entity that funds our operations, continues to be functional and helpful. That said, We once again have a GOAL OF RAISING $7,000.
We are still working towards the purchase of an ATV unit for accessing off-road emergencies, such as fires and search and rescue situations. PFD is also working to train our members as Swiftwater Rescue Technicians to be prepared for any future flooding events.
Please help us to keep doing what we do safely, efficiently, and effectively. This letter campaign is more about participation than it is about how much you give.
