Let's Walk For Sickle Cell!

Break out your best pair of walking shoes - the Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation's annual Walk for Sickle Cell is back! This year, we are coming back in person and virtually, which means you can join us anywhere on-site or anywhere in Texas, the United States, or in the world. We had such a great turnout last year and we are so grateful for everyone that participated and shared our campaign. This year, we want to make it our best walk yet. We want to raise $25,000 this year!

How do I become a fundraiser for the Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation?

Do you want to get shirts for yourself/your team? Head over to our Walk For Sickle Cell website and fill out the form! Registering individually can get you multiple packages; the #WalkforSickleCell package is $25 and includes a t-shirt. A child gets a #WalkforSickleCell t-shirt for $15. You can also register a team of 10 adults for $240 and a team of 20 adults for $480! After you choose what package you want, you can register your team right here on Donately!

If you'd just like to donate to the walk, all you have to do is click the "Donate Now" button at the top of the page. Want to fundraise for the Walk for Sickle Cell? Click here to register! Or, click the green and white "Start a Fundraiser" button at the top of the page or the green "Create a Fundraiser Page" button at the bottom. You can create an individual fundraiser, create a team, or join a team. 

Make sure to leave why you created an individual/team fundraiser on your page! What does the Walk for Sickle Cell mean to you? Who are you walking for? What are you walking for? Make it as personal as you can! 

What are the next best steps after I join?

Spread the word! Once you set everything up and your campaign is complete, reach out to everyone you know. Tell them to donate (if they can) to your campaign. Encourage them to make their own team or their own fundraiser. Post on social media on the day of the walk. Let them know it's time to Walk for Sickle Cell on September 2nd.
