On December 3, 2019, the St. Louis Association of Community Organizations (SLACO) will participate in Giving Tuesday. Our goal is to reach a donation level of $5,000 for the 2019-2020 giving season.

To those who may be unfamiliar with this campaign, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on December 3rd and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

SLACO has joined this effort as a way to continue to provide programs and services that support our community via our neighborhood associations. When you make a donation, your contribution goes directly to support needed community programs.

As an organization, we pride ourselves on addressing systemic issues affecting our community - issues such as vacant housing and racial division within our city. We’ve come to address these issues through innovative partnership programs, such as The Finest Fifteen and Neighborhoods United for Change. We also take pride in bringing various programs and events to the St. Louis community, such as the Sustainable Neighborhoods Program, our afterschool and summer camp program at the Etzel Place Community Center, the St. Louis Vacancy Summit, the Town Gown Summit, and our annual signature event – the Regional Neighborhoods Conference. 

To continue these programs, we need your support. We are asking that our SLACO supporters send a minimum contribution within the range of $10 to $25. With each contribution, your combined efforts will help us reach our goal of $5,000!
